Scary Halloween Clouds

In theory I will have Trick or Treaters tonight.  I heard on the radio that kids do that even here in Nz.  I went to Countdown (it and New World are the local grocery stores) last night and bought four bags of candy.  It’s getting dark, and so far no one has come to my door.  I may be bringing fours bags of candy into the hospital tomorrow.  Oh, well, it’s job security for later.

I did look out the window earlier tonight and saw some very scary looking clouds, so I thought in celebration of October 31 (or, as they would say here, 31 October) I would capture some of the moment.  I have to say, one of the great things about living here are the clouds.  In the Bay Area of California, I’m afraid to say, we have very boring skies.  Usually plain blue.  It’s good if you like outdoor tennis, but the number of spectacular cloud-scapes I’ve seen there is small.  Here in Dunedin, three or four times a week I’m treated to a show at sunset, and I have front row seat.  It’s marvelous.

So, enjoy the clouds, especially if your opportunities to see these spectacles are rare.  And wish me luck at the hospital on 1 November that the nurses like sweets.

Cheers,

I am different things to different people. Husband, father, doctor, teacher, friend, or if you're a fish, a fly fisherman. But really, I'm just a guy trying to learn about life, and if I'm lucky, maybe teach a little bit along the way. If I were a golfer (I'm not) I would be on the back nine of my life, or if I were a book, there would be more pages turned than not. Any yet, I'm far from finished creating chapters of my life. The goal of Next Chapters is inspiration, and I'm hopeful the traffic goes in both directions.

  1. Did you miss seeing trick or treaters, kids in costumes? Halloween is a fun day for families where we live. The sky, the clouds you see, … You will miss NZ when you return home.
