Ok, here’s the thing about Dunedin. The weather changes…..fast. Like today. I was working at the hospital today, Labor Day, the day predicted to have the best weather of the three day weekend. (I’ve got an idea for weather forcasting….if I’m working, it will be sunny that day. If I’m not working, expect rain). Anyway, it was a magnificent day as I drove into work at just after 7am. Bright blue skies, and the sun continued to shine even when I left the hospital around 3pm. I grabbed a few groceries at New World just across the street from the hospital and headed home. I had plans for a run along waterfront, maybe even doing laundry and drying it outside (I know….it doesn’t get more exciting than that). I put my groceries away, and I’m not kidding, I looked outside and the entire sky was covered in clouds with rain threatening. I couldn’t believe the change, and it all happened in less than hour.
But here is the upside: spectacular sunsets, so here are some shots of the view outside my bedroom window just from yesterday and today. The first picture is from yesterday afternoon, when rain clouds moved in quickly but there was one little clear patch surrounding St. Clair beach.
All the remaining pictures are from tonight over a period of about 15-20 minutes, as I watched innumerable banks of clouds collect on the horizon getting ready to bring showers our way.
It’s true I didn’t get my run in, but there is a silver lining to every cloud.
Enjoy,
cheers,

Because the weather is such a thing here, it is often a central topic of conversation…I’m just trying to fit in. cheers, dave
Awesome!! Running in the rain is fun, next time just go for it 🙂
Rain and jogging are OK; Rain and phone and beepers (when you’re on call) are not as good of a mix, and I have pay the phone if I wreck it!
But, if it’s raining and I don’t have to carry my phone, I’m going for it.
cheers
some might call those cloud banks, but they look like waves to me. really cool
